Ngā Aho Whakaari has championed Māori in screen industries for 30 years. They needed a website that reflected this legacy and showcased their current mahi.

Nui collaborated closely with Ngā Aho Whakaari to create a dynamic, user-friendly platform that embodies their values, legacy, community and activities.

The new website (ngaahowhakaari.org) features a clean, modern design with intuitive navigation and imagery that captures their work. The site now showcases member achievements, upcoming events, and industry resources, with a homepage that honours the organisation’s three decades of work in the screen industry. Additionally, a page dedicated to one of the key projects Aho Shorts, showcases the production teams, key resources and serves as a hub for funding information.

The Māori Screen Directory

The Māori Screen Directory was a key part of the Ngā Aho Whakaari website, and was created in partnership with Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga New Zealand Film Commission. Designed to foster community engagement and grow opportunities for economic development, the directory showcases Māori practitioners across the industry. The tool features dedicated profile pages for members and features such as detailed search filters making it easy to find the skills you’re looking for. 

The revamped website has become a thriving online community, representing Nga Aho Whakaari's vital role in supporting and promoting Māori professionals in the screen industry.
